"What will the technician do?"

1)     Check that the furnace area is clear of flammable items to make sure you are not at risk for furnace related fire.

2)     Check the electrical wiring for poor connections or exposed wire to make certain you are not at risk from electrical shock or a furnace breakdown.

3)     Check for gas leaks in the furnace and nearby gas pipes to make sure you are not at risk from a gas leak causing an explosion.

4)     Check the pilot or ignition safeties to make sure you are not at risk from gas building up in your house if the furnace doesn’t ignite and causing an explosion.

5)     Check the high limit safety to make sure you are not at risk of the furnace overheating and causing a fire.

6)     Check the vent for proper draft to make sure you are not at risk of furnace exhaust including carbon monoxide backing up into your house.

7)     Check the heat exchanger integrity to make sure there are no leaks to prevent the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning the air you breathe.

8)     Check to make certain the furnace is not creating unsafe high levels of carbon monoxide in the furnace exhaust that can cause a safety risk.

9)     Check the burners for obstructions or debris that can cause delayed ignition (mini gas-explosions) inside the furnace.

"What if I don't know how old it is?"  No problem. We verify the age of the furnace from an industry guide using the model and serial number of the furnace.
